1,2,3, Go!
“One, two, three, Go”! is a math class that provides hands-on experiences
for young children to develop math skills in a fun way. Math concepts are introduced
and reinforced through stories, poetry, songs and math games. Children will
have opportunity to count, sort, and order math manipulatives as they build
a deeper understanding of mathematical concepts.
Playing with Spanish
Foster a love of language. Young children have a natural
affinity for language and for music. This class takes advantage
of these by teaching basic Spanish through simple songs and
musical games. Students will learn basic greetings, numbers,
colors, parts of the body, articles of clothing, animals,
and action words. Putting words to music is fun, and the
delight children experience will increase their ability to
remember them.
A Rainbow of Colors
From birth, children are fascinated by the colors that surround
them. Basic science concepts are introduced as students make
comparisons and observations, formulate simple hypotheses,
and perform experiments. This fun and intellectually stimulating
class creates a rich experience for young children as they
explore a rainbow of colors through art projects, math activities,
literature, and songs. As children play with and talk about
colors, their awareness and knowledge about the world is
enhanced.
Intro to Folktales
A necessity in every child’s life; children experience
wondrous tales that teach about humanity, morality, responsibility,
ages long past, civilizations changed and evolved. This
course is taught through the use of stories, pictures, food,
song, clothes, puppet shows, and acting. Children gain
greater moral understanding, stronger reading skills, and
experience a safe place to “enact their desires and
to fulfill their wishes.”
