Community Projects

Leadingschool Community Project develops students’ critical thinking skills by asking them to critically analyze the challenges in their communities and develop practical solutions to address these challenges.  Students learn about and utilize the Discovery and Improvement Cycle to first identify symptoms and causes of a problem.  Next, students will carefully define the problem so that their proposed solutions address the problem itself, rather than a symptom of the problem.  Once a solution is selected, students will create a timeline and budget for implementation, a student management and evaluation plan, and implementation and integration plan.  The final product will be a presentation and portfolio utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
