Philosophy
We believe that leadership consists of a teachable skill
set. Differentiated by a unique blend of theory and
practice, Leadingschool, EE’s Youth Leadership
Workshop challenges students to read about, discuss, and
experience the art of leadership. We set the tone by
examining the BE-KNOW-DO leadership model, which addresses
leader attributes, knowledge, and action. We follow
this with an introduction to the Active Team Member. The
skill sets stemming from these theories focus on goal setting,
planning, and problem solving. Participants gain insight
when they examine the highly interpersonal lessons of Personality
Types, Influencing & Motivating, and Leadership Styles. All
theories exist within the experience education framework
of the workshop – students practice the theories they
learn. The final product provides students the chance
to create action plans for carrying their new-found skills
into their homes, schools, and communities.

“The workshop was very interesting
and enlightening. It displayed different
view points and standards of what makes a
leader. I have been in countless leadership
and team programs, but this one was one of
the most engaging; not too much theory or
activity, but an equal balance.”
“Every skill that we went over will definitely
apply to my life. You will use all of these skills
in your future whether it is with friends, teachers, or
co-workers.”
